Seeing 20/20 in 2020

In the past, I had several different approaches to making New Year’s resolutions. When I was younger, I made long, long lists. By early adulthood, those usually morphed into more health- and financial-related resolutions. I’ve thought how I want to approach 2020 and also this next decade, especially given how much my personal and professional life has changed in the last little while.

In 2020, I’ll work to keeping growing DJB Design, meeting more fantastic clients to join the great clients who have signed on for this ride since late 2018. (You can be a part of this journey by reaching out to me here.)

This year, I have just one resolution. It’s simple but very broad in its application. I will make decisions to benefit my health and the health of the planet. A few examples: upping the number of plant-based meals I eat and supporting businesses that use eco-friendly packaging. Let’s consider thinking twice before bagging a six-pack that already comes with a handle. And let’s think about how we can redirect selfish consumerism and instead help others in need. Let’s be good, make good, protect good.

Happy New Year and wishing all the best in 2020 and the new decade!

Professionally: Owner of DJB Design LLC. I am an experienced leader, designer, journalist, editor, and consultant with a demonstrated history of working in media production. Highly skilled in visual presentation, brand marketing, editing, storytelling, and production. I am the creative powerhouse who knows how to give the right, attentive touch to the details.

Personally: I am an Idaho farm kid who found his way in New Orleans. I am a fierce defender of freedom of the press and civil liberties, especially in marginalized communities. I love Saints football, all dogs and neon signs. Glitter is fabulous but I struggle with its environmental impact. I am married to my dear husband, Mike, and we love to travel and get out into nature.
